Testing task: Navigate backwards to a button inside a banner landmark in reading mode

With JAWS in reading mode, describe how JAWS behaves when performing task "With the reading cursor on the 'Navigate backwards from here' link, navigate to the 'Show Headings' button."

Test instructions

1. Restore default settings for JAWS. For help, read Configuring Screen Readers for Testing.
2. Activate the "Open test page" button below, which opens the example to test in a new window and runs a script that sets focus on a link after the banner landmark, and hides the last link inside the landmark region.
3. Verify the Virtual Cursor is active by pressing Alt+Delete. If it is not, exit Forms Mode to activate the Virtual Cursor by pressing Escape.
4. With the reading cursor on the 'Navigate backwards from here' link, navigate to the 'Show Headings' button.
5. Using the following commands, With the reading cursor on the 'Navigate backwards from here' link, navigate to the 'Show Headings' button.
   • Up Arrow
   • Shift+B
   • Shift+Tab

Success Criteria

To pass this test, JAWS needs to meet all the following assertions when each specified command is executed:

1. Role 'banner' is conveyed
2. Role 'button' is conveyed
3. Name 'Show Headings' is conveyed
4. Button description is conveyed as: 'Visually outline the landmarks and/or headings on the page'
