Testing task: Navigate to a checked checkbox in interaction mode

With JAWS in interaction mode, describe how JAWS behaves when performing task "Navigate to the first checkbox. Note: it should be in the checked state."

Test instructions

  1. Restore default settings for JAWS. For help, read Configuring Screen Readers for Testing.
  2. Activate the "Open test page" button below, which opens the example to test in a new window and runs a script that sets the state of the first checkbox to checked.
  3. Verify the PC Cursor is active by pressing Alt+Delete. If it is not, turn off the Virtual Cursor by pressing Insert+Z.
  4. Navigate to the first checkbox. Note: it should be in the checked state.
  5. Using the following commands, Navigate to the first checkbox. Note: it should be in the checked state.
    • Tab / Shift+Tab

Success Criteria

To pass this test, JAWS needs to meet all the following assertions when each specified command is executed:

  1. Role 'checkbox' is conveyed
  2. Name 'Lettuce' is conveyed
  3. State of the checkbox (checked) is conveyed
