Testing task: Navigate to the previous expanded disclosure button

Describe how VoiceOver for macOS behaves when performing task "With focus on the 'Admissions' disclosure button, navigate to the 'About' disclosure button."

Test instructions

  1. Restore default settings for VoiceOver for macOS. For help, read Configuring Screen Readers for Testing.
  2. Activate the "Open test page" button below, which opens the example to test in a new window and runs a script that sets the state of the first disclosure button to expanded, hides the associated dropdown and sets focus on the second disclosure.
  3. Toggle Quick Nav OFF by pressing the Left Arrow and Right Arrow keys at the same time.
  4. With focus on the 'Admissions' disclosure button, navigate to the 'About' disclosure button.
  5. Using the following commands, With focus on the 'Admissions' disclosure button, navigate to the 'About' disclosure button.
    • Ctrl+Option+Left
    • Shift+Control+Option+Command+J
    • Shift+Tab
    • Up Arrow
    • Left Arrow

Success Criteria

To pass this test, VoiceOver for macOS needs to meet all the following assertions when each specified command is executed:

  1. Role 'button' is conveyed
  2. Name 'About' is conveyed
  3. State 'expanded' is conveyed
