Testing task: Navigate from a collapsed disclosure button to a link in a dropdown in reading mode

With JAWS in reading mode, describe how JAWS behaves when performing task "With the reading cursor on the 'Admissions' disclosure button, navigate to the 'Campus Tours' link."

Test instructions

1. Restore default settings for JAWS. For help, read Configuring Screen Readers for Testing.
2. Activate the "Open test page" button below, which opens the example to test in a new window and runs a script that expands the first disclosure button and sets focus on the second disclosure button.
3. Verify the Virtual Cursor is active by pressing Alt+Delete. If it is not, exit Forms Mode to activate the Virtual Cursor by pressing Escape.
4. With the reading cursor on the 'Admissions' disclosure button, navigate to the 'Campus Tours' link.
5. Using the following commands, With the reading cursor on the 'Admissions' disclosure button, navigate to the 'Campus Tours' link.
   • Shift+U
   • Shift+Tab
   • Up Arrow, then Up Arrow

Success Criteria

To pass this test, JAWS needs to meet all the following assertions when each specified command is executed:

1. Role 'list' is conveyed
2. List boundary is conveyed
3. Role 'link' is conveyed
4. Name 'Campus Tours' is conveyed
