Testing task: Read information about a slider in interaction mode

With NVDA in interaction mode, describe how NVDA behaves when performing task "With focus on the 'Red' slider, read information about the slider."

Test instructions

  1. Restore default settings for NVDA. For help, read Configuring Screen Readers for Testing.
  2. Activate the "Open test page" button below, which opens the example to test in a new window and runs a script that sets focus on the 'Red' slider.
  3. If NVDA did not make the focus mode sound when the test page loaded, press Insert+Space to turn focus mode on.
  4. With focus on the 'Red' slider, read information about the slider.
  5. Using the following commands, With focus on the 'Red' slider, read information about the slider.
    • Insert+Tab
    • Insert+Up

Success Criteria

To pass this test, NVDA needs to meet all the following assertions when each specified command is executed:

  1. Role 'slider' is conveyed
  2. Name 'Red' is conveyed
  3. Value '128' is conveyed
  4. Orientation 'horizontal' is conveyed
  5. Minimum value '0' is conveyed
  6. Maximum value '255' is conveyed
