Testing task: Navigate forwards to a menu button in reading mode

With JAWS in reading mode, describe how JAWS behaves when performing task "Navigate to the menu button."

Test instructions

  1. Restore default settings for JAWS. For help, read Configuring Screen Readers for Testing.
  2. Activate the "Open test page" button below, which opens the example to test in a new window and runs a script that sets focus on a link before the menu button.
  3. Verify the Virtual Cursor is active by pressing Alt+Delete. If it is not, exit Forms Mode to activate the Virtual Cursor by pressing Escape.
  4. Navigate to the menu button.
  5. Using the following commands, Navigate to the menu button.
    • B
    • F
    • Tab
    • Down Arrow

Success Criteria

To pass this test, JAWS needs to meet all the following assertions when each specified command is executed:

  1. Role 'menu button' is conveyed
  2. Name 'Actions' is conveyed
