Testing task: Navigate backwards to a menu button in interaction mode

With JAWS in interaction mode, describe how JAWS behaves when performing task "Navigate to the menu button."

Test instructions

  1. Restore default settings for JAWS. For help, read Configuring Screen Readers for Testing.
  2. Activate the "Open test page" button below, which opens the example to test in a new window and runs a script that sets focus on a link after the menu button.
  3. Verify the PC Cursor is active by pressing Alt+Delete. If it is not, turn off the Virtual Cursor by pressing Insert+Z.
  4. Navigate to the menu button.
  5. Using the following commands, Navigate to the menu button.
    • Shift+Tab

Success Criteria

To pass this test, JAWS needs to meet all the following assertions when each specified command is executed:

  1. Role 'menu button' is conveyed
  2. Name 'Actions' is conveyed
