Testing task: Read information about a grid cell containing a link in interaction mode

With JAWS in interaction mode, describe how JAWS behaves when performing task "With focus on a cell containing a link in the grid, read information about the cell."

Test instructions

  1. Restore default settings for JAWS. For help, read Configuring Screen Readers for Testing.
  2. Activate the "Open test page" button below, which opens the example to test in a new window and runs a script that sets focus on the third cell of the second row in the grid.
  3. Verify the PC Cursor is active by pressing Alt+Delete. If it is not, turn off the Virtual Cursor by pressing Insert+Z.
  4. With focus on a cell containing a link in the grid, read information about the cell.
  5. Using the following commands, With focus on a cell containing a link in the grid, read information about the cell.
    • Insert+Tab
    • Insert+Up

Success Criteria

To pass this test, JAWS needs to meet all the following assertions when each specified command is executed:

  1. Text of the column header ('Description') is conveyed
  2. Role 'link' is conveyed
  3. Name 'Cash Deposit' is conveyed
  4. coordinates of the cell (column 3, row 2) are conveyed
