Testing task: Navigate forwards to a tab list in interaction mode

With JAWS in interaction mode, describe how JAWS behaves when performing task "Navigate to the tab list."

Test instructions

  1. Restore default settings for JAWS. For help, read Configuring Screen Readers for Testing.
  2. Activate the "Open test page" button below, which opens the example to test in a new window and runs a script that sets focus on a link before the tab list.
  3. Verify the PC Cursor is active by pressing Alt+Delete. If it is not, turn off the Virtual Cursor by pressing Insert+Z.
  4. Navigate to the tab list.
  5. Using the following commands, Navigate to the tab list.
    • Tab

Success Criteria

To pass this test, JAWS needs to meet all the following assertions when each specified command is executed:

  1. Role 'tab list' is conveyed
  2. Name of the tab list, 'Entertainment', is conveyed
  3. Role of the selected item, 'tab', is conveyed
  4. Name of the focused tab, 'Nils Frahm', is conveyed
  5. State of the focused tab, 'selected', is conveyed
  6. Position of the focused tab, 1, is conveyed
  7. Number of tabs in the tab list, 3, is conveyed
