Testing task: Navigate to the previous tab in a tab list in reading mode

With JAWS in reading mode, describe how JAWS behaves when performing task "With the reading cursor on the 'Agnes Obel' tab, navigate to the previous tab."

Test instructions

  1. Restore default settings for JAWS. For help, read Configuring Screen Readers for Testing.
  2. Activate the "Open test page" button below, which opens the example to test in a new window and runs a script that sets focus on the second tab.
  3. Verify the Virtual Cursor is active by pressing Alt+Delete. If it is not, exit Forms Mode to activate the Virtual Cursor by pressing Escape.
  4. With the reading cursor on the 'Agnes Obel' tab, navigate to the previous tab.
  5. Using the following commands, With the reading cursor on the 'Agnes Obel' tab, navigate to the previous tab.

Success Criteria

To pass this test, JAWS needs to meet all the following assertions when each specified command is executed:

  1. Role 'tab' is conveyed
  2. Name 'Nils Frahm' is conveyed
  3. State of the tab, 'selected', is conveyed
  4. Position of tab in the tab list, 1, is conveyed
  5. Number of tabs in the tab list, 3, is conveyed
