Testing task: Navigate to the previous tab in a tab list in interaction mode

With JAWS in interaction mode, describe how JAWS behaves when performing task "With focus on the 'Agnes Obel' tab, navigate to the previous tab."

Test instructions

  1. Restore default settings for JAWS. For help, read Configuring Screen Readers for Testing.
  2. Activate the "Open test page" button below, which opens the example to test in a new window and runs a script that sets focus on the second tab.
  3. Verify the PC Cursor is active by pressing Alt+Delete. If it is not, turn off the Virtual Cursor by pressing Insert+Z.
  4. With focus on the 'Agnes Obel' tab, navigate to the previous tab.
  5. Using the following commands, With focus on the 'Agnes Obel' tab, navigate to the previous tab.
    • Left Arrow

Success Criteria

To pass this test, JAWS needs to meet all the following assertions when each specified command is executed:

  1. Role 'tab' is conveyed
  2. Name 'Nils Frahm' is conveyed
  3. State of the tab, 'selected', is conveyed
  4. Position of tab in the tab list, 1, is conveyed
  5. Number of tabs in the tab list, 3, is conveyed
