Testing task: Navigate backwards to a not pressed toggle button in interaction mode

With NVDA in interaction mode, describe how NVDA behaves when performing task "With focus on the 'Navigate backwards from here' link, navigate to the 'Mute' button."

Test instructions

  1. Restore default settings for NVDA. For help, read Configuring Screen Readers for Testing.
  2. Activate the "Open test page" button below, which opens the example to test in a new window and runs a script that sets focus on a link after the button.
  3. If NVDA did not make the focus mode sound when the test page loaded, press Insert+Space to turn focus mode on.
  4. With focus on the 'Navigate backwards from here' link, navigate to the 'Mute' button.
  5. Using the following commands, With focus on the 'Navigate backwards from here' link, navigate to the 'Mute' button.
    • Shift+Tab

Success Criteria

To pass this test, NVDA needs to meet all the following assertions when each specified command is executed:

  1. Role 'button' is conveyed
  2. Name 'Mute' is conveyed
  3. State 'not pressed' is conveyed
